Crossfire - World War II simulation review without measuring distances or counting turns

Most wargaming games revolve around three things that are present in virtually every title: measuring distances, rolling dice, and alternating players along clearly predetermined turns. In WWII Crossfire, only the dice rolling applies! It may sound novel and innovative, but now comes the second bombshell. The game was released back in 1996, so this innovative approach is from the last century! The creator of the rules, Arty Conliffe, thought it was more important to "play by feel" using logical historical approaches than using artificial boundaries that don't match reality. A soldier running from cover to cover isn't going to stop an inch from a trench because his movement just failed, and the enemy machine gunner isn't going to just watch and wait his turn to open fire either. Unboxing - Warzone Studio Battle Mats

I get my hands on few battle mats from Russian company Warzone Studio - At the start, I must say that even though it is an company outside EU, everything went duty-free and even the basic postage has tracking, which is automatically updated in the mail. And the whole trasnit took about two weeks, and the "production and packaging" took a little over a week. Transport/carry bag. It is interesting that the mats do not come in a "classic tube" but instead in such an elegant bag, which is already included in the price. Why not - at the end for carrying in a backpack/sport bag, its probably better than a tube. The 4x4 matt fit into the bag without any problems, the 8x4 had a bit of an "inflated wallet" effect. While the Cold War never escalated into a hot phase in Europe, it did merge with (often bloody) decolonisation in Africa and Asia, and the Western and Eastern blocs engaged in many major and minor wars with supplies of weapons and equipment (and often advisers or volunteers). The iconic weapon of these conflicts was the Soviet Kalashnikov rifle, whose importance is evidenced by the fact that it is incidentally also on the flag of the African nation of Mozambique, after which the AK47 Republic ruleset by Peter Pig is named, who also publishes his own line of 15mm figures for the game. Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City - Review of the competitive tabletop adaptation of the famous video game

Perhaps every successful video game will eventually get a tabletop adaptation. Sometimes it works out great, sometimes worse. Fortunately for Cyberpunk 2077, the board game subtitled Gangs of Night City was taken under the wing of CMON, a studio that rarely releases a downright bad game. In Gangs of Nightcity, as the name suggests, you become the boss of a gang that fights with others in the streets for control of the city. As with most CMON games of late, it's a classic Area Control game, where you have a map with squares that you occupy with figures and use the resources they provide to do other mischief. However, Cyberpunk spices up this established system with a series of missions and an accompanying story. Moreover, the missions aren't just single scenarios that don't affect anything. Wargaming and its scales - When millimetres define the miniatures

In the last article we looked at how to categorize games by the number of models on the table , and today we'll look at how to categorize them by model size. These numbers (and the subsequent model sizes derived from them) are not random, but represent the size of the actual human piece on the table. Thus, in a 28mm game, the figure representing the human is really 28mm in size. However, there is often a difference in how this size is calculated. Some manufacturers take the whole figure up to the top of the head, and others take it only up to eye level, creating a difference of one or two millimeters. Before we start with the scales themselves, there are a couple of criteria that are reflected in the size of the figures - whether they are so-called heroic or truescale models, loosely translated as heroic/comics and realistic proportions.
