The Battle of Gaugamela took place in 331 BC between the forces of Alexander the Great of Macedon and King Darius III of Persia. It was a decisive battle in Alexander's conquest of the Persian Empire. The battle resulted in a decisive victory for Alexander, leading to the fall of the Persian Empire and establishing Alexander's dominance in the region.
As Netflix descritpion: Alexander was King of the ancient Greek city state Macedon and widely considered to be one of history's greatest and most successful military commanders. By the age of 30 he had created one of the largest empires in history.
